PUB giant JD Wetherspoon has bought Jolly’s Hotel in Broughty Ferry from an asking price of £950,000.
The hotel, which has been closed for some time, comprises 24 en suite letting bedrooms, a public bar with seating for 50, a small lounge bar and a main lounge bar, which can seat 114.
Wetherspoon intends to refurbish the ground floor of the building before reopening it later in the year.
“Broughty Ferry has always been a popular location for licensed leisure operators which was evident from the interest that we had for Jolly’s,” said Ken Sims of Christie & Co, who handled the sale. “It proves that locations such as this can command strong prices, even in the current market.”
