Hotel set to benefit from its proximity to Gleneagles golf resort
Property firm Colliers International is marketing the Tormaukin Hotel in Glendevon, near Dollar, at offers around £850,000.
Originally an early 18th century drovers’ inn, the hotel is said to have retained the historic charm of an old country inn, with exposed stone walls, open fires and beamed ceilings.
The property has 11 letting bedrooms, a reception lounge, residents’ lounge, main restaurant and a conservatory restaurant. Included in the sale is a two-bedroom modern chalet, which is said to be ideal for owners, and two further chalets, which could be used for staff or as further letting accommodation.
The Tormaukin Hotel is being sold by David and Lesley Morby who purchased it out of administration in 2010 and have developed the
business into what the agent descibed as one of central Scotland’s “must visit” inns.
“With its central location close to many population centres and its proximity to the Gleneagles resort the Tormaukin Hotel has for years been an extremely popular destination, whether it be from a wide hinterland of locals or visitors and tourists,” said Alistair Letham, a director with selling agent Colliers International.
“David and Lesley Morby have rescued the hotel and re-established and reinstated a sound business with turnover increasing on a month-on-month basis.
“The decision to sell is to allow them to consider a ‘quieter’ life offering new owners a superb opportunity to acquire this excellent business and take benefit from the proximity of the Gleneagles resort, where the Ryder Cup will be held in 2014.”
