STAR Pubs & Bars has joined forces with coffee brand Nescafé in a bid to help its lessees perk up profits.
Under the new partnership, the pubco is offering lessees a range of support and advice to help boost coffee sales, including new equipment to buy or rent, on-site staff training by Nescafé ambassadors and point of sale material, including posters, tent cards and branded cups.
The new promotion has been rolled out following a trial in 135 pubs, in which sales of coffee are said to have increased by as much as 112%.
Chris Moore, trading director at Star Pubs & Bars, said: “It is imperative, with pubs and coffee bars competing for the consumers’ hard-earned pounds, that our licensees and their staff are confident in their knowledge of coffee, of consumer behaviour, of the equipment they use and of how to promote coffee to customers,” he said.
