Edinburgh chefs to launch pub

EDINBURGH chefs Tom Kitchin and Dominic Jack have joined forces again to launch a new pub in Stockbridge.

The duo, who opened Castle Terrace restaurant in the capital in 2010, have acquired the former San Marco restaurant at Mary’s Place on Comely Bank Road in a deal brokered by The Restaurant Agency.
Following the same ‘from nature to plate’ philosophy adopted at Castle Terrace and The Kitchin, the new venue, which is currently being refurbished, is gearing up to launch in spring offering “affordable, freshly prepared, home-cooked dishes” using local ingredients served in a “warm, family-friendly atmosphere”.
Alan Goldie, director at The Restaurant Agency, said brothers Nino and Franco operated San Marco for 30 years and now plan to retire.
“The family were involved in the decision to find new tenants and we’re all confident the planned offering will bring an exciting new flavour to the area,” he said.
