A SPEYSIDE hotel is set to undergo a refurbishment after changing hands.
Marie Murray plans to carry out a phased revamp of the 18-bedroom Dowans Hotel in Aberlour, which she bought for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of offers around ÂŁ780,000 in a deal brokered by Colliers International.
The hotel’s new owner said the refurbishment will remain sympathetic to the Victorian building and will include the addition of a fine dining restaurant and a bistro.
Colliers International director Alistair Letham said: “In difficult property marketing conditions there was strong interest in the hotel, which culminated in the sale to the purchasers, who will undoubtedly bring their own style to this well established business.”
