New bottled beers are in good spirits

SHS Drinks has launched Cuvana and Dead Crow into what it said is a burgeoning category.

THE firm behind ready-to-drink brand WKD has made its first foray into the beer category with two spirit-flavoured brands.

SHS Drinks has launched Cuvana and Dead Crow into what it said is a burgeoning category.
Dead Crow is a 5.5% ABV bourbon-flavoured beer, which is described as a light beer base with a rich bourbon spirit, while Cuvana (also 5.5% ABV), combines a “light, refreshing beer with light rum and a hint of lime”.
Mark Hooper, head of innovation and development at SHS Drinks, said growth in the bottled beer category is being driven by spirit-flavoured and world beers.
“The spirit beer category is very much in its infancy and it does present plenty of scope for development, but our aim is to accelerate the growth and open up the category by offering different flavour options rather than ‘me-toos’,” he said.
Both beers have an ABV of 5.5%.
