Tragic end for Ben visitor

TRAGEDY struck Scotland’s main licensed trade charity last month when one of its most popular figures was killed in a road accident.

John Morton, 78, was one of The Ben’s longest-serving visitors and a well-known and popular figure in the trade.
Ben chief executive Chris Gardner described John as a “perfect gentleman”.
“John was one of the old style sales reps and was a Ben visitor for 20 years,” she said. “It’s a sad end to a well liked and respected man.”
A 30 year old man has been charged with five offences under the Road Traffic Act 1988 since the incident on Sunday, November 18.
