THE officers behind Pubwatch schemes in the Govan, Craigton and Cardonald areas of Glasgow have been nominated as community champions.
Licensing standards officer Julie Kane and constable Colin Whiteford, of Strathclyde Police’s Divisional licensing department, were nominated finalists in the Evening Times Community Champion Awards.
The duo have been instrumental in setting up Pubwatch schemes in Govan, Craigton and Cardonald, and an Off-sales Watch in Ibrox and Cessnock.
