LEITH’S Foot of the Walk pub is hosting a new weekly surgery designed to help police engage with locals.

The scheme, which kicked off earlier this month, sees officers from the Safer Neighbourhood team visit the JD Wetherspoon outlet each Wednesday between 11am and 1pm do discuss any issues or concerns members of the community might have and listen to suggestions and comments on local policing matters.
PC Mark Muir encouraged anyone who lives or works in the Leith area to make the most of the opportunity.
“These surgeries are an extension of our Community Commitment pledge as we look to enhance our engagement with the Leith public,” he said.
“The Foot of the Walk provides us with an informal setting that members of our communities, particularly the elderly, may feel comfortable attending to discuss the issues affecting them.
“We are keen to use these surgeries to help us shape local policing for Leith and would urge our communities to take advantage of this opportunity to engage with their Safer Neighbourhood team.”
