OVERSEAS buyers have snapped up a Highland hotel, complete with a family home and church ruins in the grounds.

The Monadhliath Hotel at Lagganbridge, near Newtonmore, was sold for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of offers over £860,000 in deal brokered by ASG Commercial.
Paul Hart, head of commercial sales at the property firm, said the vendor’s “willingness to place the property on the market at a reasonable level” had been key to the sale of the eight-bedroom hotel.
“We have seen an upsurge of interest from potential purchasers around the world including Australia, North America, Europe and the Far East,” he said. “A number of interested parties are ex-pats wanting to return home to Scotland but increasingly we see non-UK residents looking to invest within the region.
“This, coupled with strong interest from individuals south of the border, is encouraging for the general market.”
