50 jobs to go at Coke

FIFTY staff are facing the axe in Lanarkshire at the company behind soft drink giant Coca-Cola in Scotland.
Coca-Cola Enterprises is proposing to close its regional sales office in East Kilbride as part of an efficiency drive.
It expects the move will lead to a reduction in 50 jobs from the 359 it employs across four sites in Scotland.
However, CCE insists the proposals, on which it is currently consulting unions, will not affect its factory in East Kilbride, where Coke and other brands are made.
It also said it will continue to use part of the site that houses the sales office for its vending operations.
The firm expects the changes to take effect early next year.
