Highland hotel unveils new bar

A HIGHLAND boutique hotel has unveiled its new-look bar.

The Clubhouse in Nairn has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment since Colin and Janet Fotheringham bought the business earlier this year.
The latest phase of the revamp saw the traditional wooden bar replaced with a modern Italian design from Clydebank-based New Concept Glasgow, which also supplied furniture.
Fraser Fotheringham, assistant manager at The Clubhouse, said the new bar is designed so staff rarely have to turn their backs to customers.
“The cocktail station is in the middle of the two beer fonts so we can use all measures, no optics,” he said.
“The glasses are all there and everything is stored under the bar so we can face the customers nearly all the time.”
New Concept Glasgow chairman Sandro Formisano said the bar is “much better suited to the operation”.
“Because the bar is modular, these panels can easily be replaced – if they’re scuffed by a chair for example,” he said.
