SCOTTISH wine importer and distributor Alliance Wine has scooped a top award for its product range.

The company was awarded the title of Wine List of the Year by the International Wine Challenge at an event last month.
The judges, who voted unanimously for Alliance Wine, said the Ayrshire-based company’s list “manages to combine a vibrant and young looking approach with clever marketing techniques such as bullet points on how to sell your wine”.
Alliance marketing director Giles Cooke said: “Against competition as august as Waitrose, Matthew Clarke, Enotria and Yapp Brothers, it was always going to be a tough fight but our careful blend of sage advice, wonderful wine selection and experienced opinion won through in the end. It’s a major UK-wide award that reinforces our leading position in the trade but also the need to be different.”
Alliance Wine was also shortlisted in the Large Wine Agent of the Year and On-trade Supplier of the Year categories at the awards, which took place at the Park Lane Hilton in London.
