BARREL-ageing could be a thing of the past, if a London-based business has anything to say about it.
TerrePURE Spirits has developed an ageing process that it claims is capable of producing smooth, refined spirits without the need for lengthy barrel-ageing or multiple distillation.
According to TerrePURE, its ageing method reduces the amount of ‘congeners’ – impurities created by traditional distillation techniques – and free radicals found in distilled spirits.
Its website describes the spirits distilled using this process as “the cleanest spirits made by man”.
