Ale puts wheels in motion

THE brewer behind Old Speckled Hen plans to give away a classic MGB sports car to mark the ale’s links with the famous motoring brand.

Greene King’s competition to win the car will be promoted in more than 2000 pubs via visibility kits and point of sale material, which will direct consumers to a dedicated competition page on the Old Speckled Hen website where they will be asked to enter details.
As well as the chance to win the car, the competition, which will run until the end of the year, will give away 1000 limited edition Old Speckled Hen Corgi model cars as runners up prizes.
Old Speckled Hen started life as a commemorative beer to mark the 50th anniversary of the MG car factory in Abingdon. The ale took its name from the “Owld Speckled Un” – a canvas-covered MG used by employees as the factory run-around.
