Rare malts head for the capital

WHISKY connoisseurs will have the chance to sample a selection of Scotland’s most expensive drams at an exclusive tasting session next month.

Whisky costing more than £700 a bottle will be on offer at Stars of Whisky Luxe, which will take place on September 7 at the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh.
The event will feature Fettercairn 40 years old (which can cost around £730 a bottle), a special selection of rare or limited editions of Jura bottlings (up to £500), and rare releases from distillers such as The Dalmore, The Macallan, Balblair, Ardmore, Laphroaig, Bowmore and Auchentoshan.
“This will be one of the finest arrays of whiskies ever available for tasting at a single event in the home of Scotch whisky,” said event manager Chloe Leighton.
“It is the ultimate evening for those who appreciate life’s luxuries and have a true passion for whisky.”
Only 350 tickets are available for Scotland’s inaugural Whisky Luxe event.
