West coast hotel strikes gold

A WEST coast hotel has been awarded a gold medal by tourism marketing body VisitScotland.

Loch Melfort Hotel in Arduaine near Oban was presented with VisitScotland’s Gold Star Award, which aims to highlight businesses within its Quality Assurance scheme which strive to exceed customer expectations on an ongoing basis.
The award comes just three years after Calum and Rachel Ross acquired the 25-bedroom three-star hotel.
“We feel that being a family-run hotel gives us that extra little sparkle that other hotels just cannot compete with and this, along with a high proportion of local staff that care and really want to make your stay with us special, is why VisitScotland has awarded us gold status,” Rachel said.
“We are really proud of all our staff for the time and attention that they give to guests and this is fantastic recognition for us and them.”
