GLASGOW bar and restaurant Ad Lib has invited its customers to try and ‘beat the burger’.

The Hope Street venue, part of the Baby Grand Group, laid down the gauntlet with its Monster Burger Challenge.
Customers taking up the challenge have two hours in which to eat the monster burger, which consists of 3lbs of Aberdeen Angus beef, three beef tomatoes, two onions, 1lb of cheese and a giant bun made specially to fit the monster burger.
If the burger is finished the challenger’s bill is scrapped and they’re given an ‘I destroyed the Ad Lib monster burger challenge t-shirt’; those who fail have to shell out £35.
Inaugural burger beater David McConnachie said: “I love food and I love Ad Lib burgers.
“I am very proud of myself; I used a strategy and it worked.”
