Accor ramps up staff training

HOTELS group Accor is to invest £5 million in a new staff training programme.

The firm, whose branded hotels include Ibis, Novotel and Mercure, has joined forces with Babcock to develop its apprenticeship scheme. It has pledged to offer 100 placements a year to UK hospitality students, and launched a new Academie Accor campus in London.
Backed by the Accor Foundation and Springboard, the hospitality charity, Accor UK has also launched the Hospitality Futures programme, which will offer 25 unemployed young people a starting job in the industry.
