GLASGOW girls Helen Gallagher and Mirka Mikulcikova have become Scotland’s first Whisky Ambassadors.

The duo, from the Radisson Blu hotel on Argyle Street, recently passed the new Whisky Ambassador programme, which grades pub and hotel staff on their knowledge of Scotland’s national drink.
Hotel HR manager Lorna Jackson said the training had boosted the staff’s confidence.
“To have the first Whisky Ambassadors in Scotland is an honour for the Radisson Blu,” she said.
“As a luxury venue in a major tourist destination, excellent customer service is crucial to us.”
Jo Graham, director of the Whisky Ambassador programme, said: “This is an intensive course with a whisky tasting and written exam; both girls did extremely well in the tests and we are delighted they are the first Whisky Ambassadors in Scotland.”
