THE man behind the Independent Bar & Kitchen on Glasgow’s Queen Street has snapped up the Sannino pizzeria outlet on the city’s Bath Street.
Thomas Cushley, who also owns McGunnigals Irish bar in Coatbridge, bought the premises in a deal brokered by Christie & Co; it follows the sale of Sannino on Elmbank Street, which the agent also handled.
“The sale of Sannino pizzeria attracted lots of interest, partly because of its excellent trading position, close to the main retail thoroughfares of Sauchiehall and Buchanan Streets,” said Jonathan Clough. “We understand that Mr Cushley is currently undertaking an extensive refurbishment before re-opening the premises as San Romano Bar & Restaurant, which will be a stylish addition to this popular licensed circuit.”
