Chance to snap up loch-side inn

A LOCH-side inn near Lairg in Sutherland has come onto the books of agent Cornerstone.

Located on the banks of Loch Borralan, the Altnacealgach Inn has a lounge bar and a 34-cover conservatory restaurant, which has views of the loch and the Culmor and Suilven mountains. Included in the sale is a two-bedroom owner’s cottage and an eight-acre building plot. The inn, which is said to date from 1881, currently trades on a seasonal basis.
Gordon Mair, director of selling agents Cornerstone, said the bar “oozes character”.
“This sale will appeal to buyers wishing to have a licensed business but away from the noise and hassle of the town or city where country pursuits, such as fishing, are literally a few steps from your front door and only having to work on a seasonal basis,” he said.
