THE firm behind Glasgow’s Carlton George hotel is on the lookout for premises in Edinburgh city centre.
Carlton Hotel Collection, which also operates hotels in the Netherlands and Belgium, has appointed property firm CDLH to acquire a minimum 75-bedroom hotel in the capital.
CDLH director Peter Darroch said an active requirement for a hotel in Edinburgh city centre is a “clear sign that market activity and the hotel transactional market is improving”.
“The Carlton Collection of Hotels will assess a variety of opportunities,” he said.
“They require a minimum of 75 bedrooms and are willing to assess trading businesses or, indeed, development sites.
“Further, they may lease opportunities, subject to conditions.
“We are delighted to be working with the Carlton Collection of Hotels in this instruction.
“We are also pleased that market activity is improving, which should hopefully lead to a substantial hotel transaction within the core city centre over the coming months.
“We would stress that all discussions for opportunities will be treated in the strictest confidence and on a purely private and confidential basis.”
