‘Great 8’ host Scots dinner

A GROUP of top chefs known collectively as the ‘Great 8’ has hosted its first dinner in Scotland.

The group meets every two months at a different venue to prepare an eight-course tasting menu.
Last month saw the chefs gather at Glasgow’s Blythswood Square – the home venue of Great 8 member Derek Donaldson.
“To be able to welcome such an amazing group of dedicated individuals to our kitchen here in Glasgow was a real privilege for the team here,” Donaldson said.
“As a chef, it was also a rare opportunity to showcase Scottish produce and to work alongside my peers to create a memorable and unmissable dining experience.”
Donaldson is the only member of the Great 8 representing a Scottish venue, with the other seven members of the group hailing from hotels and restaurants in England.
