A NEW drinks distributor focusing on high-end spirit and liqueur brands has just been launched.

Established by Chris Bowen, who previously worked with South African cider Savanna in the UK, and Douglas Cunningham, who has worked in the drinks industry for 18 years, Indie Brands counts rum brands Matusalem and Stroh, Cariel and Aivy vodkas and Xante pear liqueur among the brands in its portfolio.
Chairman Bowen said the firm aims to “fill a gap in the luxury brands arena”.
“We were getting so bored of seeing the usual suspects with their tired brand extensions in all the top-end bars and chains,” he said. “We spotted a gap in the market for more exclusive, innovative, prestigious products, with a genuine point of difference.”
Managing director Douglas Cunningham, who previously worked for EPM Brands and Blavod Drinks, said Indie Brands will work with the “top end of the on-trade” and specialist spirits retailers.
“We are thrilled to be working with some fantastic brand owners and some truly innovative products which are really on-trend,” he said.
“Our mission is to find the best in class for each category and we’re always on the lookout for new brands which fit our criteria.”
