GLENFIDDICH, the Speyside single malt owned by William Grant & Sons, has released its first ever 19 year old expression.
Glenfiddich Age of Discovery has been matured in casks previously used to age Madeira wine.
The name refers to the 15th century Portuguese explorers who pioneered sea routes between Europe and Asia, discovering the islands of Porto Santo and Madeira.
The theme is highlighted on the new malt’s packaging, which includes illustrations of the travellers’ journeys.
Glenfiddich 19 year old Age of Discovery Madeira Cask Finish has an ABV of 40% and a recommended retail price of £90 a bottle.
