A 160-bedroom Tulip Inn hotel is to be the centrepiece of a proposed new restaurant and retail development in the heart of Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games zone.

Planning permission is currently being sought to build the Arena Retail & Leisure Park directly opposite Celtic Park in the city’s east end.
The development, which will have access to the public square serving the new indoor Scottish Commonwealth Arena and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, will feature the hotel as well as several restaurant and retail units.
Willemijn Geels, development director of Louvre Hotels Group, said the three-star Tulip Inn offers “excellent quality, comfortable rooms and friendly personnel at an affordable price”.
“I am delighted that we have been selected to operate this new hotel, which will be the UK’s first new Tulip Inn,” he said.
“We are very happy to re-introduce the brand to the UK market through this exciting project and are confident about the long-term growth potential for our brands in the UK.”
