Troon venue set to rise from the ashes

A TROON venue gutted by fire last month could be rebuilt and relaunched by the end of the year.

Lido in West Portland Street is to be demolished after fire ripped through the Buzzworks-owned outlet on February 5.
Speaking to SLTN last week, Colin Blair, who runs the company with siblings Kenny and Alison, vowed that the venue will return.
“The property has to be demolished and we have to start from scratch,” he said. “But we fully intend to rebuild and reopen as soon as possible, hopefully by the end of the year.
“We hope to turn a negative into a positive. We’re already looking at designs and how we can make it even better than it was before. We’ve relocated 90% of the staff to our other venues.”
Meanwhile, Buzzworks is set to open a cafe bistro, Bosun’s Table, next to its Scotts venue at Largs Yacht Haven in the next few weeks.
“It will have a casual offer to complement what we do at Scotts,” added Colin.
