WINE Importers is planning to open a wine training school at its Livingston HQ.
The news coincides with the appointment of Malcolm Ogilvie as the merchant’s new regional business manager.
As well as handling sales for Wine Importers in Aberdeen, Speyside, Inverness and the Highlands, Ogilvie – who was most recently a wine educator with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust – will be setting up the training school.
“By joining Wine Importers I am able to maintain contact with the Scottish hotel and restaurant community and in setting up a wine training school I can fulfil an ambition to encourage the next generation of restaurateurs and hoteliers to gain the most from their wine lists,” he said.
Ogilvie is a former sales director at Forth Wines, and before that spent 25 years with Oddbins.
