SCRAPPING the planned duty increase in next month’s Budget would help save thousands of jobs and allow the drinks industry to help the UK’s economic recovery.
That was the message from trade groups ahead of chancellor George Osborne’s Budget announcement on March 21. The Wine and Spirit Trade Association, BBPA and Society of Independent Brewers all urged the chancellor to stop the tax escalator.
