THE trade dug deep at this year’s Ben Dinner to raise more than £75,000 for the charity.
More than 970 guests attended the event at Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel on February 2 to raise much-needed funds for the Scottish Licensed Trade Benevolent Society.
The event heard from Ben president Gordon Bell, of Tennent Caledonian Breweries, as well as guest speakers Sheriff Lindsay Wood and football referee John Rowbotham.
Ben chief executive Chris Gardner hailed the event a success. “Times are tough but I think companies, old and new, appreciated the value and quality of the dinner, both in networking terms and the feel-good factor of helping the trade charity and giving something back,” she said.
