A COUNTRY house hotel in Fife has been sold to an operator from Yorkshire – after attracting interest from the United States.
Set in two acres of gardens on the outskirts of Cupar, Rathcluan House Hotel has 17 bedrooms, a breakfast room and a lounge bar/function room for 90 guests.
There’s also private six-bedroom owner’s accommodation.
Gordon Mair, director of selling agent Cornerstone, described Rathcluan House Hotel as an “imposing” building that’s well known in the area.
“The sale attracted huge interest from potential buyers as far afield as America, though the successful purchaser, Brian Moore, is a little more local in moving from Scarborough,” he said.
“An experienced hotel operator, Brian could see the obvious potential in the business and bought it for an undisclosed sum.”
