A HIGHLAND hotel has beaten competition from across the UK and Ireland to triumph at Conde Nast Johansens 2012 awards for excellence.
Loch Ness Lodge at Brachla was the only Scottish hotel to be recognised at the 30th annual awards dinner – when it was named ‘most excellent small hotel in the UK and Ireland’.
Located on the banks of Loch Ness in Inverness-shire, the hotel has seven individually-designed bedrooms, a two AA rosette restaurant and a spa and therapy area. There are also five luxury self-catering cottages in the grounds.
Managing partner Scott Sutherland, who established the business five years ago, said the award is testament to the hard work put in by the whole team at the resort.
“People have been steadily discovering us since we opened our doors and this award will really put us on the map,” he said.
“It is also great for the local tourist industry and all those connected with the Loch Ness name as it is an internationally-accredited affirmation that there is somewhere of supreme standard to visit and stay overlooking the great loch.
“I think what we provide is consistency right across the board – consistently high standards of customer care and the fabulous dining experience of our restaurant, which is the jewel in our crown.”
