BEERS from Edinburgh-based Innis & Gunn will be matched with Scottish beef in a series of Steak Out consumer dinners this month and next.
The events, which take place at Aberdeen’s Malmaison hotel on September 22 and Hotel du Vin in Edinburgh on October 12, aim to highlight how the beers’ vanilla flavours, derived from the oak ageing process, go well with steak.
The Steak Out dinners will kick off with beer and canapés as guests are taken through the range of steak cuts. I&G founder Dougal Sharp will then present the beers, including a selection of limited editions, as guests tuck into the steak-matching menu.
The four-course menu at each event will see a range of cuts from Aberdeenshire supplier Donald Russell matched with different styles of beer.
In addition to its core range of Original (bottled and draught), Blonde and Rum Cask, I&G also offers several limited edition ales.
