SINGLE malt The Glenlivet has been given a makeover designed to reinforce the brand’s heritage.
The revamped bottle features an embossed stamp of ‘George & JG Smith’, the founding family, along with ‘1824’ – the year in which The Glenlivet was established. The new-look bottle has higher shoulders and a shorter neck.
The Glenlivet 12 year old remains in a green bottle while the 15 year old French Oak Reserve is now in clear packaging. The 18 year old bottle has been given a heavier base to bring it in line with the 21 year old and Glenlivet XXV expressions. Neil Macdonald, brand director for malts at Chivas Brothers, said the new packaging is designed to “reflect the quality” of the whisky.
