SWEDISH brewer Spendrups has introduced a new Swedish cider into the UK market ahead of the traditional cider-drinking summer months.
Briska, ABV 4.5%, is positioned as a premium, ‘semi-dry’ cider and is looking to appeal to the middle ground between sweeter Swedish ciders and drier British brands. It is available in three flavours: pear, apple and pomegranate, and in 330ml glass bottles, cans, PET, and on draught in 50 litre kegs.
In the on-trade it has a RRP of £3.20 and in the off-trade £1.20.
“We are very excited about the potential of Briska in the British market,” said Fredrik Eklund, export manager at Spendrups. “We hope to recruit a whole new generation of drinkers to the apple and pear cider category as a result of the brand’s unique gentle taste and the exciting pomegranate flavour.”
