Wine bar takes flight

Divino Enoteca offers consumers chance to sample wines

EDINBURGH wine bar Divino Enoteca has taken a page from the malt whisky book with the introduction of a new range of wine flights

The flights allow customers to sample a number of wines from regions across Italy by the glass, in either 25ml or 50ml measures. Each wine flight contains five different wines from the bar’s wine list, with packages ranging in price from £6.50 to £46.80.
The bar has Enomatic wine dispensers, which are designed to preserve the flavour and body of wine once the bottle is open.
Owner Tony Crolla said the concept behind Divino Enoteca has always been to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional Italian enoteca (or wine bar), in which customers are encouraged to try different wines.
“In order to take Divino back to its roots, we turned to the wine flights, which now allow customers to sample the wines we have on offer,” he said.
“Customers can now try several different wines they might not otherwise have tried and then compare them with others on the menu, allowing them to make more informed wine choices in future.”
To complement the wine flights, the venue has also introduced a number of antipasti and dinner packages, priced from £20 per person.
