TEN Oddbins stores in Scotland have been sold to the firm behind Whitall’s Wine Merchants
Administrators Deloitte confirmed 37 outlets across the UK have been sold as a going concern to European Food Brokers for an undisclosed sum. The package includes two Oddbins stores in Aberdeen, three in Edinburgh and five in the Glasgow area.
The sale comes after Oddbins went into administration after failing to gain support from its creditors to restructure its debts through a company voluntary agreement.
Lee Manning, joint administrator and partner at Deloitte, said the sale of 37 outlets secures the jobs of 200 staff.
“We are currently engaged in a range of discussions regarding the sale of the remaining 48 open stores and are confident of an imminent deal,” he said.
