MARTIN Wishart has been lined up to help judge the Young Chef of the Year category in this year’s Scottish Food and Drink Excellence Awards.

The celebrated chef will also host the final cook-off at his Cook School, which is based near his eponymous, Michelin-starred restaurant in Leith, at the end of April.
Judges are looking for an individual (aged 16-24) who can create delicious and innovative dishes, is passionate about Scottish ingredients, and can help develop the country’s food and drink industry.
Last year the award went to Alan Robertson, who has since landed a job with the Roux brothers at Rocpool Reserve in Inverness.
The awards will climax with a dinner at the Hilton Dunblane Hydro on May 26. Visit www.scotlandfoodand drink.org for more information.
