A MOTEL business in the so-called ‘wedding capital’ of the UK is up for sale
Christie & Co is marketing the currently closed Royal Stewart Motel in Gretna on behalf of Punch Taverns, with a price tag of £200,000 for the freehold.
The property, close to wedding hotspot Gretna Green, is said to be in a “fair” condition internally and externally. With eight letting bedrooms, a lounge bar, dining room and beer garden, it also features owner’s accommodation.
Christie & Co’s Brian Sheldon, who is handling the sale, said the motel is an “excellent business opportunity”.
“The Royal Stewart Motel is extremely well-located on Gretna’s Glasgow Road, just a couple of hundred yards from both Gretna Gateway outlet village and Gretna Green railway station,” he said.
“Although the property is currently closed, it does offer a fantastic opportunity to re-establish it in all its former glory.
“With the abundance of weddings that take place in the area throughout the year, the potential to establish the accommodation and bar sides of the business is endless.
“I strongly recommend a viewing in order to fully appreciate exactly what is on offer.”
