Revolution is in the air!

SLTN’s Spirit of the Sixties cocktail competition returns, inspired by the transformative spirit of 1960s counterculture and revolution.

Bartenders will be tasked with crafting cocktails that pay homage to an era marked by social change, artistic expression, and rebellion.

Are your recipes radical?
Can you shake up the status quo?
Then it’s time to take a stand!

“The only way to support a revolution is to make your own.”
– Abbie Hoffman.

Entry Process and Criteria

Entrants should prepare one cocktail using a spirit of their choice.

The drink should be inspired by one of the many revolutions that took place in the 1960s, from the sexual revolution to the civil rights movement, social justice to fashion. It’s entirely up to you.

Entries should be posted on the entrant’s Instagram page, including video, images or both, as well as a list of ingredients and the hashtag #SLTNRevolution

They must also tag SLTN and Inverarity Morton on Instagram (@scottishlicensedtradenews and @invmorton) to ensure we are notified of every entry.

Entries run from 3rd to 24th March 2025.

Entrants will be scored on:
• The concept behind their drinks, the link to 1960s counterculture and revolution, and their ability to communicate this;
• The flavour of the drinks; the balance of the ingredients and how well they work together;
• Their ability to prepare and present the drinks with skill and professionalism.

Entries now open!

You have until Monday 24th March to enter. See our entry criteria and start preparing now!
