Tomatin captures summertime in a bottle

TOMATIN, the Highland distiller, is invoking long summer nights with the launch of the latest in its Cù Bòcan range.

Cù Bòcan, distilled every winter at the Tomatin Distillery, is matured in a variety of cask types.

The newest addition to the range, Cù Bòcan 12 year old, has been finished in rum casks from Guyana and Barbados, which are said to impart fresh, tropical fruit and maritime notes to the whisky.

Flavours of grilled pineapple, sea salt, ginger and white chocolate are said to be present in the spirit, which Tomatin likened to ‘long Scottish summer nights, spent with friends by a campfire on the beach’.

Blender and global ambassador, Scott Adamson, said the casks have added ‘more depth and warming spice’.
