Matthew Clark bolsters portfolio

ON-trade supplier Matthew Clark has bolstered the range of premium wines it offers with more than 30 new producers.

Unveiled last month at its ‘#WhyWeLoveWine’ tasting, the new wines are said to have been added in response to current trends and customer demands.

The supplier has added two new Chablis producers to its portfolio following a claimed 20% increase in Chablis sales over the last year; and, with sparkling wines said to be growing by more than 30% across the Matthew Clark portfolio and English sparkling more than doubling, the firm has added new wines from the Camel Valley winery in Cornwall and a range of Crémants from family-run Loire producer Maison Sauvion.

Other new additions to Matthew Clark’s list include Atamisque’s Serbal range from the Ruta del Vino in Mendoza and Pinot Blancs from Oregon’s Four Graces winery as well as wines from Daciana in Romania’s Banat region.

Matthew Clark’s purchasing director Simon Jerrome said: “Over the last few years we have developed and built our premium offering, which has been extremely well-received by customers, and is reflected in the uplift we’ve seen in these sectors. This year we are bringing on board an array of producers which will give depth to our portfolio, providing our customers with even more options, to help them diversify their wine offering and drive profitability in the on-trade sector.”
