Citrus gin with a hint of honey

The new gin includes blossom honey.

1881 Distillery, the gin brand owned by the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, is celebrating Scottish honey with a limited edition release.

A limited bottling of Garden Gin was created in conjunction with the Scottish Bee Company. The Old Tom-style gin includes blossom honey in the recipe, which 1881 said adds a ‘subtle sweetness’ to the flavour.

The distillery is located on the grounds of Peebles Hydro and 1881 brand manager Charlie Leckie said the gin was “inspired by the greenhouses and conservatories at the hotel which used to house citruses like oranges, lemons and limes and well as various tropical plants”.
