The evolution of the licensed trade

WHOLESALER Inverarity Morton is showing off the diversity of its portfolio next week when it hosts a new event, Evolution 18.

Taking place on September 18 at Glasgow’s SWG3, the event will showcase brands from 20 of the company’s suppliers.

The show, held as the wholesaler marks its 73rd anniversary, is designed to highlight the various ways the on-trade is evolving, from innovations in products to the changing ways drinks are prepared and served, and will include a range of live demonstrations and hands-on experiences for attendees.

Ian Cumming, the firm’s commercial director, said: “Our annual wine tasting is the largest trade wine event in Scotland but, as a composite wholesaler, our range and our expertise goes way beyond that – and that’s what we want to show to the industry in Scotland with Evolution 18.

“The sector has come a long way since 1945, the year we were founded. Our business is unrecognisable. From stocking a range of gins that we could count on two hands, we now have over 270 and that’s just one category.

“Innovation is everywhere, no more so than on our own doorstep – creating a vivid and memorable consumer experience is as important these days as the product and the presentation.

“We’ve brought together some of the most forward-thinking brands under one roof for an experience like no other we’ve hosted.”

Evolution 18 takes place from 2pm until 7pm on Tuesday, September 18 at SWG3 in Glasgow. To register email evolution@inveraritymorton.com
