Rye’s not the limit for drinks firm

New vodka and gin join burgeoning Halewood portfolio

Whitley Neill Rye Vodka

RYE vodka and a violet gin are the latest spirits to join the burgeoning portfolio of Halewood Wines & Spirits.

The Whitley Neill range of gins and vodkas has been bolstered with new Whitley Neill Rye Vodka – a 43% ABV triple-distilled spirit said to be made exclusively from winter rye, which is reckoned to produce the smoothest tasting vodkas.

Described as having a “clean aroma, with subtle hints of black pepper, vanilla and liquorice”, the rye vodka has a “smooth and silky finish”, rounded off with hints of sweetness and spice.

James Stocker, marketing director for Whitley Neill, said the new spirit is the “perfect complement” to the existing range.

“Not only does it rival any competitor in its price bracket on taste, it also displays great provenance and authenticity, making it an easy product to invest in,” he said.

Elsewhere, a violet gin has been added to the JJ Whitley spirits range.

Said to have a “refined fragrance with a delicate taste of violet”, JJ Whitley Violet Gin is made using a blend of eight botanicals, complemented by a “natural burst of flavour” from country garden flower, the violet. The new spirit is packaged in a clear glass bottle to showcase its light purple colour.

Adam Georgiou, brand manager for JJ Whitley at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “To meet consumer demand following the craze for pink gin, there was a desire to bring a distinctive new violet gin to market in time for the summer months and we, of course, obliged.

“With a heritage in launching unique flavours, JJ Whitley is positioned perfectly to capitalise on this sought-after expression.”
