‘Lavish’ fruit gin liqueur launched

Edinburgh Gin’s Pomegranate & Rose is said to be inspired by the Orient

Edinburgh Gin’s Pomegranate & Rose is said to be well-suited to various cocktail serves

THE firm behind Edinburgh Gin has bolstered its fruit gin liqueur range with the launch of Pomegranate & Rose.

The 20% ABV variant, which is said to be inspired by the Orient, is described as an infusion of pomegranate seeds and rose petals.

It joins the spirits firm’s existing gin fruit liqueur range, which includes Raspberry, Elderflower, Rhubarb & Ginger and Plum & Vanilla.

Following its launch late last year the new varietal is said to be “fast becoming one of Edinburgh Gin’s best-selling fruit gin liqueurs”.

We like to explore and experiment with flavours to create a range that is unique and varied.

Neil Boyd, UK managing director of Ian Macleod Distillers, which bought Edinburgh Gin in 2016, said: “Using our London Dry gin as a base, we like to explore and experiment with flavours to create a range that is unique, varied and enriches the gin drinking experience.

“Pomegranate is associated with decadence, while the addition of rose evokes tastes and aromas of Turkish delight.

“A lavish and sumptuous fruit gin liqueur, Pomegranate & Rose works perfectly in a Gin Fizz or as a modern twist on a classic Martini.”

Boyd added that the new liqueur can also be enjoyed, over ice or in a cocktail, such as a Rossette Martini.
