Hoteliers on acquisition trail

THE owners of The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen have purchased the venue’s neighbouring buildings with an eye on development.

Graham and Gillian Wood, who also own The Chester Residence in Edinburgh, acquired the two listed properties on Queens Road; the interconnecting Victorian villas sit adjacent to the hotel.

Comprising 56,000 sq ft across four storeys, the property has planning consent for hotel, restaurant and bar use; there’s a 22-space car park at the rear of the site.

Graham Wood said: “The acquisition provides a good opportunity to purchase a prime west end property.

“We will be looking at a number of options for developing the property over time.

“We are pleased with what we have created so far and this clearly increases our potential.”
