Stirling bar that’s traded since 1718 offered for sale
ONE of Stirling’s oldest pubs – thought to have first opened its doors in 1718 – is for sale via property firm Graham & Sibbald.
Located on Baker Street in the city centre, Nicky-Tams occupies the ground and first floors of a traditional stone tenement building and comprises a public bar, first-floor seating area, spirits store, beer cellar and commercial kitchen.
The current owners have developed and maintained an excellent reputation.
The current owners are said to have built up a strong reputation for the pub, which trades seven days a week with a 1am licence on Friday and Saturday nights. It regularly stages live music acts, DJs, and quiz nights and is said to be popular with both locals and visitors.
The pub currently offers a simple Scottish menu, with food accounting for around 30% of sales; the property agent said this could be further developed by a new owner.
Peter Seymour, head of licensed and leisure at Graham & Sibbald, said Nicky-Tams has an “excellent local reputation for a wonderful atmosphere and excellent entertainment for locals, visitors and students alike”.
“We think this will represent an excellent opportunity to a single operator or a small or large group looking to expand their estate,” said Seymour.
Offers in the region of £450,000 are sought for the heritable interest of the property.
