Sky continues pubs action

SKY has pledged to continue its enforcement campaign against Scottish licensees it considers to have infringed its copyright by showing Sky programmes in pubs without the correct commercial viewing agreement.

It comes as the broadcasting giant recorded a successful case at Edinburgh’s Court of Session.
The court found Sarah McIntosh, designated premises manager of the Avalon Bar, and David McIntosh, director of Avalon Bar Ltd, had infringed Sky’s copyright by screening Sky Sports in the pub. They were also found guilty of contempt of court after breaching an interim interdict order (temporary injunction) from the court.
